What size brush should I get for my pet?

All of our pet brushes come in 2 popular different sizes. We suggest that you pick the small – medium brush for pets up to 44lbs and the large size for pets over 44lbs.

How do I use the HappyDogz pet grooming brushes?

Our pet brushes come with detailed instructions on the back of the brush’s packaging. In case you missed that or if you accidentally threw out the packaging, here are the steps below;

* Always brush your pet before bathing because it’s much easier and helps prevent matting. Brush again when drying.

* Use a gentle brushing motion when using the slicker brush or the deshedding tool.

* Brush your pet’s coat from the surface to the end of the hair.

* Be careful not to scrape the wires on the skin.

* When removing mats or tangles be gentle so that you de-tangle them without causing discomfort. Start slowly at the base of the mat and de-tangle it gently, pulling out the dead and matted hair.

* Take your time and brush calmly – This will ensure that your dog does not get scared and will enjoy the session.

* Reward your pet during and after grooming sessions so they begin to look forward to the regular brushing sessions

How often should I brush my pet’s coat?

To get the maximum effect, we suggest that you make a daily habit of brushing your furry buddy’s coat for about 10 – 15 minutes per session. We do understand that some pet Mom and Dads out there tend to be busy so a minimum brushing session of at least 2 – 3 times a week should do nicely.

How long should I use the brush?

We recommend a 10 – 15 minute brushing session with your furry buddy but you can lengthen or shorten the time as needed especially when your dog/cat is still getting used to the process.

My dog/cat doesn’t seem to like the brush?

We have designed a pet grooming tool that can provide the best experience for both pets and their owners. Over many years, we have received very positive feedback and reviews from thousands of pet owners whose pets have thoroughly enjoyed being brushed by our tools.

Having said that though, we do understand and respect that each pet is different and may have certain needs and preferences.

There are also certain cases wherein a cat or dog may have some fear of being brushed which can be common for many pets in the beginning no matter what type of brush is used.

For this scenario, we suggest that you get your furry buddy accustomed to the brush first by letting them sniff or inspect it. Place it with them in bed for a few minutes now and again as well. When they’re a bit more comfortable with the brush, try brushing them slowly and just get them a feel of it. After that offer some treats and praise.

Make the activity short and then lengthen it as they become comfortable with the brush. Do this daily and your furry companion should warm up to the idea of being brushed in no time.

Will the deshedding tool stop my dog’s shedding?

A common misconception that most pet owners have regarding shedding is that there’s a magical tool that can ultimately stop it. The truth is that there is no magic formula to stop this occurrence and there’s also no such thing as a pet that doesn’t shed.

What size should I get for my dog?

We recommend that you order the small – medium dog leash size for dogs up to 44lbs and the medium – large size for dogs above 44lbs.

Aside from your pet’s weight, please also consider if your dog is a puller or not. If your dog has not been properly trained in being walked yet please consider training with a normal leash first before transitioning to a retractable dog leash.

Pet Nail Clippers

How do I use the HappyDogz Pro Cut Pet Nail Clippers?

Our pet nail clippers come with detailed instructions that can be read at the back of its packaging. In case you missed that or if you accidentally threw out the packaging, here are the steps below;

Preparation:

Start trimming your pet’s paws when they are young so that they get used to the process.

If you’ve never trimmed your pet’s nails before, spend a few days getting them used to having their feet handled first. Pick up one of your pet’s paws and gently touch their toes and nails for a few seconds. Release their paw and immediately give them a treat. Continue this for a few days for about 5 – 10 minutes a day.

When they are used to having their paws handled, get some treats, get your HappyDogz nail clippers and some Styptic powder ready and take your dog to a quiet area.

What Part Of The Nail To Trim:

You should first cut just the tip of the nails, and as you get more comfortable, you can cut closer to the quick. Never cut all the way to the quick because you can hurt your dog/cat and make their nail bleed. Knowing where to trim a pet’s nail takes some skill. If your furry buddy has clear nails, you can see the live quick, which looks pink. Cut the nail less than an inch from the quick.

If your pet has dark nails, you can avoid cutting into the quick by trimming one little sliver of nail at a time, starting with the tip. As you cut slices off your pet’s nail, look at the exposed edge of the cut nail. Eventually, you’ll see a grey or pink oval starting to appear. Stop trimming when you see the oval. If you don’t, you’ll cut into the quick, causing pain and bleeding.

Cutting Technique:

Some small to medium sized dogs will happily sit on your lap or on a table while you trim their claws but many require some form of restraint.

One method to restrain your dog is to place her/him on their side on a table. Stand on the side of the table opposite to the claws you are trimming, behind your dog.

Drape your arms and upper body over the dog. When trimming the front claws, keep your left forearm over the neck to keep the dog from lifting its head. Hold the paw in your left hand and hold the clipper in your right hand. Begin the process of clipping while using a calm and soothing voice.

Be mindful of your dog’s body language to alert you if you cut too short or if they are becoming agitated with the process.

Hold the nail clipper at a right angle to the nail with the tip of the nail between the blades.

Quickly squeeze the handles to close the scissors and cut the nail. As long as your dog doesn’t seem upset after you trim a nail or two, you can continue to trim the rest of the nails. Don’t forget to trim your dog’s dewclaws as well.

If the toenail is cut too short, you can use a styptic pencil containing silver nitrate to stop blood flow. Even without any treatment the nail should stop bleeding in about 5 minutes or less if you apply some pressure using a tissue to the nail.

How long until I get my order?

Expedited shipping will ship out the same day if ordered before Amazon’s expedited processing deadline (usually around 11:00 AM Eastern Time) otherwise they will ship the item on the next business day.

Shipping time is 1-3 business days. Expedited usually is 2-3 days faster than standard shipping.

How can I check the status of my order?

After ordering on Amazon, you will receive an email from them after your order has been shipped out.
